'The Rules of the Game' published by St. Martins Press, describes Netball as a ' seven-a-side team game usually played by women. As in basketball, goals are scored by sending the ball through a ring at the opponent's end of the court. Players must pass the ball by throwing it, but they must not run with it. Unlike basketball, players are restricted to certain areas of the court.'
