Freestanding or Socketed?
Freestanding posts are a flexible solution - they stand on a weighted base, can be moved between sessions, and particularly suit school halls, multi-use spaces, and recreational play. Socketed posts drop into permanent ground or floor sockets, offering greater stability. Socketed posts are the preferred choice of England Netball for competitive fixtures and dedicated courts. For home and garden use, our lighter garden post range is the practical option.
Post Height by Age Group
Netball post ring height should always match the age group playing. Players aged 12 and over use the full regulation height of 3.05m. Junior players aged 9-11 use 2.74m, while the introductory High-Five format for children aged 5-9 uses 2.44m. If your sessions or usage will cover more than one age group, consider an adjustable post covering all three heights.
Don't Forget Padding
Unless stated in the product description, our netball posts aren't supplied with padding. If pads are required, this needs to be added separately. World Netball regulations require padding on any netball post used for competitive play, and it's strongly recommended for training use too. Pads are sized to fit specific post diameters, so check your post specification before ordering.

Our netball posts section has been split into sub-sections for 'Freestanding', 'Socketed' and 'Garden' types of goal. Socketed types of goal will best suited for use by schools and netball clubs. However, freestanding goals can be used by schools, clubs or for private 'domestic' use.
