Are you eligible for Football Foundation funding?
Football Foundation funding is available for up to 75% of the cost of portable floodlights.
The good news is that Football Foundation funding isn't only open to football clubs, in fact schools/educational establishments, charities, community and voluntary groups can apply too - providing that grassroots football in England at a community level is a main reason for the application.
If you meet the following requirements, you should be eligible for Football Foundation funding.
You're:
- A not-for-profit football club or voluntary group*
- A Local Authority
- A County FA
- A Professional Club Community Organisation
- An educational establishment providing facilities for the community
- A registered charity
- A not-for-profit company
- A community interest company (CIC) or other social enterprise
- A company limited by guarantee
* If you are applying for a Football Foundation grant on behalf of a Football Club, you must be the Chair, Secretary or Treasurer of that Club to submit an application and co-sign the required forms.
You can't apply if you're:
- An individual or sole trader
- A national governing body
- A commercial / for-profit entity
- A club within the Premier League, Football League, National League System (Step 1 to 6), Women's Football Pyramid (Tier 1 - 4) or the Welsh Premier League
- Educational establishments providing facilities solely for their students
Can I apply for Football Foundation funding if I'm outside of England?
Unfortunately not. If you're in Wales, the Welsh Football Foundation offers equipment grants, but this is currently closed to applications for portable floodlights.
How long does it take?
From start to finish, successful funding applications usually take around 8 weeks - so it's worth applying in plenty of time before winter if you'd like to make the most of your new portable floodlights when the nights start drawing in.
