How to Order
sportsequip.co.uk provides an easy to use "shopping basket" facility so making a purchase couldn't be easier. Just browse through our product range and click your mouse on the item(s) you are interested in. Full specifications can then be viewed for each item. The required items can be simply added to your "shopping basket" and purchased on line.
After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. We also welcome orders and card details by telephone, fax or post.
We accept credit card payments including Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. We regret we are unable to accept American Express. All orders are charged in £ Sterling. Under normal circumstances we do not charge for any item until it is ready to despatch. Back ordered items are also not normally charged until they are despatched.
When an e-mail confirmation of order is received by you, this is only to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, only when we send you a written order acknowledgement by post. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
All prices listed include carriage - see below, 'Deliveries, Shipping and Handling'. If you require a specific carriage quotation, please contact us. VAT is automatically charged at the prevailing UK rate.
For orders to be delivered outside mainland Britain please refer to our export section.
Our standard payment terms are:
Local authority organisations – Nett 28 day account.
Other businesses – A credit account may be granted subject to status. Otherwise by cheque, debit or credit card details must be provided at the time of ordering.
Private consumers and private sports clubs may pay by cheque, debit or credit card. Details must be provided at the time of ordering.
When applying to open an account, please supply us with the following information:

- Address & Postcode
- Contact numbers
- E-mail address
- Company registration number (if applicable)
Bacs payments can be made by credit transfer to Lloyds TSB, 7 High Street, Leicester, LE1 9FS, branch sort code 30-94-97, account number 02348407, in the name of Boyd Sport & Play Ltd t/a sportsequip.co.uk . Please indicate our invoice number when advising us of Bacs payments.
Credit Card Security
When your order is placed via our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. All our credit / debit card transactions are carried out through Lloyds TSB Cardnet.
We fully understand that some of our customers may have reservations about putting credit card details on the internet. Please contact us by telephone or fax if you would prefer to advise us of these details personally.
Deliveries, Shipping And Handling
sportsequip.co.uk despatch the majority of goods by 3 day carrier i.e. those that aim to deliver within 3 working days of collection and require a signature upon delivery.
We also despatch some small items that we hold in stock by standard post.
Please note that the couriers and delivery services we use will usually deliver during the working day. If it is unlikely that anyone will be in to sign for your order you may find it easier to give an alternative or work address . We reserve the right to charge a redelivery fee if the customer is not there to collect the goods as arranged for heavy or bulky items.
Deliveies included within our prices cover postage to the whole of the UK or 3 day carrier to mainland Britain and large items to within a 350 mile radius of Tur Langton, Leicestershire.
Large items e.g. football goal posts, cricket cages, cricket sightscreens, scoreboxes, fitness/trim trails, playground surfacing & tiles require special delivery arrangements or may require manufacturing to order. These may take up to 30 days or occasionally longer to despatch, in which case we will liaise with you and keep you fully advised.
Express or 24 hour delivery can be arranged on most items upon request for an additional fee.
Signing For Goods
Please check your goods carefully upon delivery for any signs of possible damage before you sign to say that you have received the goods in good condition. If you find the internal contents have been damaged we recommend that you cross out the word 'Received in good condition' and write 'Damaged' before you sign, or to write 'Damaged' above your signature. This is to ensure that a claim can be made against the courier company if necessary.
If you have previously signed to declare that you received your order in good condition it is extremely difficult for us to claim that your goods were damaged if you do not use the correct wording.
On the rare occasion that a parcel may have been received beyond all levels of acceptability, please refuse delivery. Do not sign for the items, then contact us immediately at sales@sportsequip.co.uk or call our customer services on 01858 545789 or 08700 SPORTS (national rate call) stating your reason for refusal. We will then resolve the problem in the best and quickest way possible.
Export
Our site is primarily aimed at the British market and our "shopping basket" facility calculates VAT for British mainland deliveries only.
However, we recognise the worldwide coverage of our site and welcome overseas orders.
Prior to accepting orders outside mainland Britain, we need to agree upon shipping methods and advise you of the charges involved. These are passed on at cost.
For Business orders from the UK, VAT is added at the standard rate. For Business orders from the European Union, VAT can be zero rated ONLY upon sight of evidence of a valid EU VAT number. All other worldwide orders are zero rated for VAT.

Privacy Policy
sportsequip.co.uk is fully committed to protecting the privacy of all personal information provided by our customers and uphold strict security procedures for the storage, use and disclosure of such personal information. We do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.
We only store your personal credit / debit card information when you place an order. It is also not our current policy to make unsolicited contact with previous customers except for our own marketing purposes, nor to transfer their information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) without obtaining consent first.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies. Data collected by this site is used to:
a. Take and fulfill customer orders
b. Administer and enhance the site and service
c. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes
All data collection and transactions are carried out in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002..

Returns Policy
If the equipment supplied is faulty, it is covered by manufacturers guarantees. In the unlikely event of any goods developing a fault within the guarantee period, they may be returned for an immediate replacement or a full refund, whether they have been used or not. “Faults” are defined as manufacturing defects, not those that may be caused by incorrect installation, abuse or fair wear and tear of the equipment.
Complaints Policy
sportsequip.co.uk operate a full and fair complaints procedure. We pride ourselves in high levels of customer satisfaction, achieved through a user friendly site, a simple ordering process, a diverse choice of payment methods and strict adherence to our stated terms and conditions. If we have failed to live up to your expectations in any way, we would like to hear from you so that we can put it right.
If the complaint relates to the quality or specification of a particular product you have purchased, please in the first instance refer to our comprehensive returns policy.
For any other type of complaint, please send an e-mail to complaints@sportsequip.co.uk We aim to respond within 3 working days to your complaint. If beyond that you are still not satisfied, we are members of certain trade associations. To gain membership certain standards of experience, proficiency, stability and commercial experience are required. Free services offered by these associations include arbitration panels, and it is a condition of continued membership that as members of an association we abide by the rulings of the arbitration panels. These mediation services are normally restricted to technical rather than contractual aspects. Please feel free to contact the most relevant of these associations directly to ask for their advice.
Every effort will be taken to resolve the complaint fairly and quickly, to our mutual satisfaction.
