Timber Fitness Trails
Wooden outdoor exercise stations for green spaces
Our stunning range of adult timber fitness trails, often referred to as Trim Trails, combine all of the benefits of exercise with the power of the great outdoors. With exercise stations suitable for use by beginners to more seasoned athletes as well as the military elite, our fitness trails include stations to test the upper and lower body, plus equipment for co-ordination and balance.
Wooden fitness trails blend seamlessly into outdoor spaces, offering a natural and sustainable way to engage with fitness in the great outdoors. The organic nature of wood complements the earthy tones of forests, parks, and other green spaces, making our timber fitness trails feel like an extension of the environment rather than a grating intrusion.

Stretch Stations, Gym Trail and Fitness Trail units comply with BS EN 16630 (the European Standard for Permanently Installed Outdoor Fitness Equipment).
All of our main timber logs are machine rounded and are no less than 125mm nominal size in diameter and only sourced from FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified suppliers. We fully endorse the FSC's mission to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, economically viable and globally responsible forest management.
Whether it’s balance beams, exercise benches or horizontal ladders, the warmth and tactility of wood invite users to interact with the landscape, promoting physical wellness while preserving the beauty and integrity of outdoor spaces.
If you're looking to provide outdoor exercise facilities for people to improve their physical health, boost mood, or simply enjoy the outdoors, our ranges of fitness trails offer the perfect solution.
Ideal for use in public parks, green spaces and schools grounds. Our more demanding Physical Training (PT) exercise stations are used in MOD training facilities across the UK.
Why Fitness Trails

Exercising outdoors, especially in wooded areas, can provide a more intensive workout and alleviate boredom. Being outside also helps increase vitamin D levels, which are important for the immune system and bone health. Plus, of course, it's usually free to use. And that's certainly a cost-effective alternative to a gym membership.
While you can adjust the incline on a treadmill or add resistance on an exercise bike, nothing can truly replicate a varied outdoor terrain and the challenge of alternating and spaced exercises. With steep hills and uneven ground, a woodland Fitness Trail offers plenty of variety and makes you push yourself harder.

Life Expectancy
Timber fitness trail stations designed to last
Our timber fitness trails are all pressure treated to give a 15 year life expectancy.
Treatment is carried out only after all the machining has been completed so it gets into every nook and cranny. However, we understand that some people have reservations about timber treatments, so as a 'belt and braces' approach and for additional peace of mind we also fit ground protection 'Postsaver Sleeves' to all the timber uprights as standard.
Postsavers are incredibly effective - these patented sleeves are heat shrunk onto the logs and provide additional protection to the timber, further extending service life of the equipment.
If you'd like to learn more about the specification of our timber fitness trails and Postsavers, our Downloads section contains additional information, including exercise station drawings, layouts, planning considerations, maintenance advice and much more.
